François Servais is known as one of the most eminent cellists of his time. He travelled all over Europe with his cello, contributed to the development of the instrument and left a romantic body of work.

Nowadays Servais’ compositions are still being studied, performed, put on cd and published all over the world. Servais was born in Halle on 6 June 1807 and died there on 26 November 1866. In 2016 we commemorate the 150th anniversary of his death and in 2017 that he was born 210 years ago. A beautiful occasion for a homage.

The diverse activities are assembled in the agenda in ‘Activities’.
